… have forced me to look at the options once again. And so, without further ado:
Googsync
This client works on the S60 platform, and connects directly to the Google or Google Hosted Apps Calendar
- A bit slow, but works. Happy to say that clarity on price and email address for support are now prominently displayed on the front page of the site. The developer is a nice fellow.
- Drawbacks are single calendar support, calendar-only (no contacts, tasks, or email), and a non-free price of $22.90 USD for a single license.
Nuevasync on the back end
- Upside includes up to 10 calendars and support for synchronizing contacts, free.
- Downside includes no support for repeating events, must upgrade to synchronize tasks and email. In addition, the problems listed above.
Google Apps for Domains Premiere on the back end
- Upside includes support for repeating calendar events
- Downside includes only synchronizing a single calendar, and no support for Tasks or Email synchronization, as well as the $50/year/mailbox price for Google Apps Premiere.
Outlook synchronization
- At first, Google offered a synchronization tool between Google Calendar and Outlook (note, no Google Apps for Domains Premiere needed).
- Now there is a Google Apps synchronization tool for Google Apps for Domains premiere edition which supports Email, Contacts and Calendar. JKontherun, the GigaOM mobile blog, has a nice article on this. Download and instructions available.
Nokia S60 client
Once an Exchange server is available, either via Nuevasync or Google Apps Premeire, then a synchronization client is needed to interact with the S60 calendar, contacts, etc.
