How the heck to I convert video for iTunes and iPod (and iPhone)?
Ok, so there was a lot of pain involved, but here is what seems to work for me at this point:
- Download the free and open source MediaCoder
- Check the overall bitrate of the media you want to convert (flv, mpeg, wmv, doesn’t matter)
- On video, use Mode: Bitrate-based, set bitrate to the overall bitrate of the media, Format: H.264, Container: MP4
- On audio, use Encoder: FACC, Resample: Original, Channel: Stereo, Average Bitrate: 192, MPEG Version: 4 and Object Type: Low Complexity
Works for me!
