Week 02/2025

  • This is one of the ongoing weekly notes, as per Thej.

Work

  • To be honest, too many outstanding issues for both research and implementation. I have corralled all the scattered notes (e- and p- based) and am compiling and compressing them into something actionable.
  • The week as the unit of effort makes much more sense to me. Daily notes are too scattered and ad hoc, and an archive of hundreds for a given year is simply a recipe for ignorance. I've turned off the Daily Notes feature in Obsidian, and now write into a single weekly note, that then gets recycled. These weekly notes blog posts will help with summarizing for the week. Let's hope I can keep up the momentum.

Health

  • Still doing jogging, currently at 2k in 20 minutes. Sad, but have to start (or restart) somewhere.
  • Bicycling regularly, a nice 40 minutes a few days ago, and daily around the neighborhood with the boys.
  • Some kind of stretching, floor pilates, calisthenics (including the dreaded squats).
  • Air is bad here (100+ PMI), and it is cold now (10c this morning), otherwise everyone is generally healthy

Bicycling

Had to get my youngest a new bike as well, as his older brother's bike has some serious problems (and too many of them). This is an unanticipated expense, but we have to have working bicycles, no question. In any case, got a new bike and also two new bike tires for my own bike from Decathlon.

Outstanding

  • Need to figure out bicycle helmets (and maybe gloves?)

Reading

I was embarassed about reading so many light novels (manga without the graphics), that I simply didn't add the last four or five months of reading to my Goodreads account. Well, I've read another person's weekly notes and they mentioned that all they had read the previous year was Manga (presumably disincluding work reading, blogs, social, etc.). So, I'll be more accurate this year.
