Introduction
Wow, what a difference 7 years makes. So now basically most of the below needs modification (as of mid-2026). So let's start with what is recent and important and then after a bit I'll delete the old and moldy below.
Audio vs. Video
Video podcasting is increasing in use and YouTube is gaining on it's competitors Spotify and Apple. Of course there are many other platforms, which shouldn't be shunned. The main video podcasters in the lead are:
- YouTube
- Spotify
- Apple
Platforms that accept RSS feeds
- YouTube (can connect RSS feed in YouTube Studio)
- Spotify (though video needs to be directly submitted)
- Apple (Spotify is trying to get it so Apple can be submitted from Spotify)
- Apple Podcasts Connect
- iHeartMedia (iHeart Podcasters page)
- Amazon Music (Amazon Music for Podcasters portal)

Podcasting is growing (slowly) and offers a great opportunity for brand engagement. Generally free, the idea is to be where the audience already is, and have a reliable host for content and the rss feed.
