Out of necessity I've become a decent cook. In many cases I prefer my own cooking, and my sons eat the food I cook, which is the most important factor. As well, cooking oneself is generally cheaper, and uses higher quality ingredients. It is also usually as fast as going out to eat, so it is not about time but what one does with one's time: develop a skill or wait. These cookery posts are meant as reminders for myself, as well as an invitation to others, especially fathers, to cook simply, quickly, and well.
