Work
- Still working out the switchover to new products, and trying to get a large distributor to reorder.
Tech
- Updated page on budget Android mobile and tablet. Turns out I am bullish on Samsung.
- Sponsored someone for the first time through Github. This is for the Android app I use for Mastodon (Moshidon). I really don't like the platform due to Microsoft and AI scraping, but it does provide some funding opportunities, and that isn't all that bad.
- Looking into Spacebar.chat vs. Revolt.chat (Rocket.chat is out of the running). The main thing is that lots of folks use Discord, which is frankly appaling. Ideally something with XMPP support would be great, but the clients are not evolved enough, so far.
- Sharkey (a Misskey fork) looks to be the optimal Mastodon-compatible fediverse server.
- Aria is a nice Misskey/Sharkey client, apparently.
- Need to look at self-hosting Plausible
Health
- The little boy is finally back to being healthy after 11 days of not. Hopefully he can hold out until the rest of the school term, which ends in 2 weeks.
- And of course now the big boy is saying he is sick. Ah. Turns out it is just the PM2.5 / allergies, but still having an effect.
Travel
- Considering a wealth of travel options for the boys. We'll see what makes the cut.
- Visited Astropark and saw the planetarium show, looked through some telescopes (a great viewing of Mars with both moons, and some mediocre ones of Jupiter, likely out of focus). There was a nice promotional video of the European Extremely Large Telescope in Chile. Hadn't seen that before and it took good advantage of the display.
Reading
- Dungeon Crawler Carl, book 3 finished, book 4 almost done. Yep, it is still enjoyable reading.
