Roblox is the only reason my children run Windows on their computers.
What an annoying operating system, which regularly tries to sneakily install and configure more bloatware and suveillance.
Well, the wait is over to axe these operating systems and install Linux (namely, Debian Trixie 13).
Roblox can be installed and used by emulating Android and running the Roblox Android application using Sober (which unfortunately uses Flatpack, but that is worth jettisoning Windows for).
Install Roblox on Linux
- First install Flatpack.
- Second install Sober:
flatpak install flathub org.vinegarhq.Sober
- Third, log back in and run Sober from the games menu.
We've tested this out (with children) and they can't tell a difference between the Windows Roblox and the Sober (Android) Roblox.
Also, I've got this to run on a Gen6 Celeron Debian system with 8gb ram (their mother's machine).
Solid.
