I think this is the first week of 2026 or perhaps the last week of 2025? In any case, I've not done weekly notes for a few months now. Time to start again? I get the feeling that 2026 will end with many more question marks per paragraph?

Software stuff
- Overall my experience at Mastodon (Hachydon) and Bluesky (Bsky) has been good. I feel informed, have some conversations, and learn a few things. Though I spend way more time on things that stress me out (politics, plunder) than is healthy. Let's see if I have more control in 2026? That should be a priority.
- Still interested in things like Sharkey and Aria, or GoToSocial, but at least the Sharkey server still requires quite a bit of resources, and GoToSocial is quite small and in beta. I find where I am to be fine for now. We'll see if things need to change.
- I'm going from snikkert to ejabberd (self-hosted) in the next month or two, should be a fun cutover.
- It's time to get off of WordPress and move over to something like Sphinx. This is a long time coming.
- Even more enthusiastic about good software (mostly open source, but some closed source programs), if that is possible. I've got Sober working which allos for playing Roblox on Linux. It is the only reason that the two boy's desktops are not on Linux, and so now there is no reason not to migrate off of Windows 11. I'll do that starting soonish?
- In general, there are quite a few applications I want to learn/improve my use of, specifically Krita (2d-animation), Reaper (DAW), Godot (game engine). Audacity 4 should be nice though many plugins are Win/Mac-only (boo).
- Should I install Plausible analytics? Or just not even pay attention to the traffic?
